At 1012 hours, Companies 11 & 10 were dispatched to the 210 block of Georgia Road for extreme high levels of carbon monoxide. Muhlenberg EMS was on scene of an ALS Medical when the CO meters they are provided to wear on calls went into alarm mode advising of levels over 200 ppm. They quickly removed the patient from the residence and transported to a local hospital. Fire crews on scene with levels well over 100 ppm as EMS helped ventilate. Deputy 11 had command of this incident. Crews found the source and shut it off. The home was ventilated and turned over to the family.
GREAT WORK BY THE MUHLENBERG EMS CREWS FOR HAVING THE DEVICES WITH THEM TO CATCH AN INCIDENT SUCH AS THIS OR ELSE IT WOULD HAVE BEEN OVER LOOKED AND MORE PEOPLE COULD HAVE GOTTEN SICK OR LIVES COULD HAVE BEEN LOST!!!
