At 1450 hours, Companies 10 & 11 were dispatched to the Fairground’s Farmer’s Market for a fire alarm. Chief 10 (command) arrived with audible alarms sounding and the building partially evacuated. Crews entered and completed the evac process and found the smoke to be from a dirty deep fryer. There was no fire extension and the smoke was vented naturally. Company 11 was released at 1531 hours.
