At 1056 hours, the structure fire assignment was dispatched to the Klein’s Motel @ 4800 North 5th Street Highway for a reported structure fire. Deputy 11-1 arrived on scene with a working fire in a 159 foot long and a 35 foot wide building. Deputy 11-1 took Klein’s Command. Multiple agencies worked the scene for several hours to get the fire under control. The biggest threat was the Exposure “B” building which sits just a few feet away. Deputy 11 took the Exposure Ops and had his crews set up protections lines and save that structure. With the amount of fire in the main fire building, there was no need for any interior attack as all members were ordered out and crews went into a defensive mode.
We had 5 supply lines on the ground feeding Engine 11-1, Ladder 10, Ladder 12, Engine 13 and a stand pipe for the exposure building.
On scene were:
2 Rehab / Canteen Units.
